MLK Celebration Submission

Sixty years ago this year, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was awarded the Nobel Peace Price "for his non-violent struggle for civil rights for the Afro-American population." In his acceptance speech, Dr. King states, "I refuse to accept the idea that man is mere flotsam and jetsam in the river of life, unable to influence the unfolding events which surround him. I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality."

In celebrating the work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Baldwin Wallace acknowledges that, when it comes to the struggle for peace and justice in our community, it begins with each of us.

We invite you to join the conversation and tell us how you advocate for peace and justice in your community. Fill out the form below and we will create a BW MLK Celebration poster with your quote and photo to celebrate the work the BW community does in engaging with Dr. King's vision.
