This orientation is to help graduate students teaching for the first time at the University of Missouri. All graduate students (domestic and international) with teaching assistantships and responsibilities who have not previously taught at the University of Missouri are required to attend GTO. Postdoctoral scholars, experienced Teaching Assistants, and Graduate Instructors at the University of Missouri are also welcome to attend the orientation if space is available.

Registering for this event will automatically register you for all events, which include Academic Technologies, Graduate Student Panel, Inclusive Teaching, and Small Groups.

Spring 2024 GTO is a two-day hybrid event:
Thursday, January 11 - Asynchronously via Canvas. Activities available after January 3, or when you register, whatever occurs first.

Friday, January 12:
Via Zoom 8:45 am-12:15 pm, AND
In-person: 2:00 pm–4:00 pm on campus, location Geological Sciences rooms 104, 105, 106 and 107.

Both days are required. Snacks will be provided for the small group in-person activities on Friday, January 12.

Registrants will be emailed a detailed Spring GTO schedule. Please register by Wednesday, January 10, 2024 for small group assignment.
