NAMI@UMB will host their annual Journey Through Schizophrenia workshop in collaboration with local non-profit, SeizingPsych, Inc., and the USGA. This event presents an honest, interactive discussion about mental illness and family and professional responsibilities and decisions. NAMI@UMB is excited to offer this workshop for a second year through Zoom. In order to achieve this goal, SeizingPsych focused on maintaining the interactive exercises and sincere and empathetic conversation and experiences the event is known to foster while offering participants the opportunity to engage safely from their home or workplace. The workshop will offer a directed exercise in empathy and understanding of psychosis, educational information about schizophrenia, mental health, the lived experience of mental illness, and open discussion.
