Messina Family Teach-In Sessions: "The Common Text to Connect and Consider"

Messina would like to offer parents and families a chance to experience what it is like to participate in a Messina seminar as well as a Messina sponsored program. Messina will be hosting a Family Weekend Teach-In including sessions that demonstrate how Loyola connects learning in and out of the classroom.

An introduction to how first year students share the Common Text experience at Loyola in the classroom and beyond.

10:00 a.m. - "Stuck in the Middle with You: Marriage, Conflict, and the Courts in the Middle Ages"
Presented by Brandon Parlopiano, Assistant Teaching Professor, Department of History
We'll briefly explore medieval culture and society by looking at marital disputes that ended up in court.

I run through the basics of taxes, debt, and retirement saving for young folk so they end up becoming better-prepared adults. Everyone wins!
