Get ready to dig your hands in the dirt this Spring! In this interactive workshop, you will learn the basics of planning your first garden, the difference between cool and warm season crops and companion planting. We will also talk about the importance of keeping a gardening journal, succession planting, and ways you can support declining bees and monarch populations in your garden. You will walk away with worksheets and ideas to make the best out of the growing season.

Meet the facilitator:
Right after passing her doctoral exams, Amina Shabani started gardening in Bloomington (IN) to relieve stress and spend more time outside. Shabani has been gardening for eleven years and loves to grow flowers and herbs. In 2021, she was the third-place winner in the vegetable or herb category of the Boston Mayor's Garden Contest. Shabani is a Lecturer in the Spanish and Portuguese department.
