A major component of many careers - both within and beyond the academy - is mentoring trainees, yet graduate students and postdocs often don't have formal opportunities to develop mentoring expertise. Since mentoring profoundly affects the well-being of individuals and teams, and consequently, scientific productivity and success, we welcome you to an 8-session course on mentoring open to all STEM grad students and postdocs. While there is no magic formula, there are evidence-based "best practices" for intentional and inclusive mentoring, as well as field-tested ways to develop a reflective and inclusive personal style. In this course, we'll explore these and offer ample time to develop your skills in a supportive and collaborative community of peers.

This Fall '22 term we'll meet on the following Friday mornings, virtually, from 10-11:30am: 9/30, 10/7, 10/14, 10/28, 11/4, 11/11, 11/18, and 12/2.
