A recent study by Deloitte, one of the largest consulting firms in the world, has highlighted the important role that bicycles will play in the coming years in easing traffic congestion and improving urban air quality and public health, especially in cities as they become more heavily populated.

In Toronto, bikes are getting huge as a mode of transportation. That's why we wanted to have this seminar about this amazing device with projects that are doing a great job to promote its use in the city.

CYCLE YORK
Cycle York Community Bike Centre is located in the Black Creek neighbourhood of Toronto. They are a DIY community bike space, cycling advocacy, education and social group running under Regenesis York that works towards advocating for cyclists’ needs and services in the community. We offer free access to repair facilities and mechanic instructors and offer cycling-related events such as bike rides, learn-to-rides and workshops.

TORONTO COMMUNITY BIKEWAYS COALITION (TCBC)
Toronto Community Bikeways Coalition is a community-based campaign group advocating for 100 km of bikeways to mirror the busiest TTC subway and bus routes. It was initially formed by a group of volunteers who believe Torontonians require safe alternative transportation options, particularly during this unprecedented time as our society grapples with the COVID-19 pandemic.
