Claudia Baba received B.A. and M.A. degrees in political science from the University of Houston where her research focused on international relations and comparative politics. Active in education, politics, and art, she is a former high school social studies teacher and director of education outreach at the World Affairs Council of Houston, where she coordinated programs like World Cultures Summit and Global Issues In-Depth. Claudia’s occupassion involves inspiring students to pursue a global mindset.

She worked as a Study Abroad Advisor/Program Coordinator for almost four years at the University of St. Thomas where she managed the administrative, financial, and academic processes for individual exchange and faculty-led programs. Claudia also taught a course entitled, Intercultural Issues, engaging students to unpack the concept of culture while investigating it as an explanatory variable in studying thematic topics like, culture and gender; culture and race; culture and work; culture and conflict & negotiation.

Coming from an international upbringing and being first generation, Claudia truly values international education and is excited about creating opportunities for UHD students and scholars to further their knowledge and cultural capital, learn about places and culture, and gain intercultural skills in the process.
