For our Café Con Leche Series this FRIDAY, we will be joined by a guest speaker, Carolina Osorio Gil who is a current LLC Fellow and PhD student in the department of Global Development. Currently, she is developing a story-based theater methodology for use with rural and urban communities for knowledge and capabilities access and co-creation around water issues. She works with a campesina/o movement in Colombia and with communities in Chiapas, México, and is part of an interdisciplinary team that includes Arts, Social Sciences, and Engineering. Caro is also a Cornell undergrad alumna (BA in Cognitive Psychology, '02) and has an MA from Columbia University Teachers College in Early Childhood Education. She is an educator / activist, and has been a Latinx community organizer, food entrepreneur and aspiring politician.
During this interactive presentation, she will guide a story circle activity and then discuss how she uses story circles as part of her research. She will also give a brief multimedia presentation on her dissertation project. She invites this to be more of a dialogue than a presentation and looks forward to meeting you all! ƒñ®
