Alternative Breaks is a student-led organization housed under the David M. Einhorn Center for Community Engagement. We are students who share a commitment to social justice, personal growth, and community engagement. Pre-Covid, Alternative Spring Breaks has taken teams of students through service-learning curricula and team building before engaging in service on the spring break trip. This year due to the impacts of the pandemic we will be focusing on building a new board to ensure the future of the program. New board members will be trained on the history of the program, the social justice issues and service-learning principles we address, and all board members will be introduced to the agencies we have worked with for 20+ years. Through educational opportunities, root cause analyses, reflection, and reciprocal engagement with community agencies, we demonstrate our commitment to addressing social justice issues using a racial lens. By examining racial disparities across all systems, we work to shift the societal narratives perpetuated by implicit biases, stereotypes, and institutional discrimination. Informed by the knowledge and expertise of our partner agencies, we seek to raise awareness on systemic patterns disproportionately affecting disadvantaged communities.

**Watching the Info Session and filling out the Qualtrics survey is mandatory to apply!
