Harpur History Hunt

Participate in an online scavenger hunt from the comfort of your room, the library, the peace quad…wherever you'd like! Up to 10 teams of 1 to 4 people will work to solve puzzles and complete challenges.

The hunt will take place on Tuesday, November 7. You may begin anytime between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. We anticipate it will not take more than 2 hours and likely less than that.

Want to compete? Send your team name and the emails of your team members to HCAA@binghamton.edu by Monday, November 6, 2023, at noon.

Prizes:
Fastest Completion Time (including time deducted from bonuses and challenge completion)
$75 gift card to the campus bookstore for each team member
Best Picture (from all photos submitted)
$25 Amazon gift card for each team member
Best Team Name
$15 dining services gift card for each team member

A glow-in-the-dark Harpur water bottle

How it will work: Each team will have a Google group created for the hunt with all teammates added as members. On November 7th, you will receive a Google Spaces message at 11 a.m. from our hunt moderator. Reply: "We're ready!" by 3 p.m., and we will message you your first clue. Your time starts when you receive the first clue and ends when you send the final answer to the last puzzle. There will be two optional opportunities for bonuses that will ask you to go to specific locations on campus, otherwise the entire hunt may be completed in one location. All materials will be provided digitally, but you are welcome to print them if you'd like.
