Join us for a fascinating discussion with five MIT Sloan alumni pursuing careers in people-focused leadership. You’ll hear insights from:

1. Lauren Herman, Chief People Officer, Jobcase
Lauren Herman is the Chief People Officer at Jobcase, Inc. She transitioned to HR following a career in marketing analytics and product development. She took the reins of people in January 2020, establishing a strategic people function during the height of COVID. Herman graduated from MIT Sloan in 2014 where she discovered a passion for entrepreneurship, met life-long friends from around the world, and won the 'Teaching Assistant of the Year' award for TAing DMD. She can be found most weekends on the sports fields with her husband and two young sons.

2. Chris Mannion, Founder, Meander
Chris is the Founder of Meander, a talent marketplace for busy executives. He founded. Meander in 2021 after spending 3 years building the first recruiter enablement, analytics, and operations function supporting 400+ recruiters at Wayfair. Chris moved into recruiting after leading a supply chain analytics team and also holds an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management. Prior to his MBA, he was an aerospace engineering officer in the Royal Navy and served on various counter-piracy and counter-terrorism deployments across the globe.

3.Sarah Le Roy, Chief Human Resources Officer, Saama
Sarah has more than 25 years of experience as both an advisor and in–house working with organizations, teams, and leaders to transform. She has a proven track record as a leader and an advisor for public, family owned, and PE backed organizations looking to evolve into successful, strategically focused globally competitive enterprises. Broad experience in human resources; talent assessment, acquisition and selection, organizational design, M&A and divestiture, ESG & DEIB. Sarah has worked in a diverse range of industries, including life sciences, manufacturing, financial services, and technology.

4. Dan Stavins, Senior Consultant, Deloitte Consulting
Dan has had a slightly unconventional path into HR, backing his way in from the business side. After starting his career in litigation consulting, he came to MIT Sloan to figure out his next steps. After not succeeding (read: failing) to break into product management, upon graduating from Sloan in 2019, Dan took a business ops role at Microsoft. Over time, that role morphed into people ops, at which point everything clicked that his passion area was really in HR. In 2021, Dan left industry to join Deloitte's Human Capital (HR) consulting practice, where he helps clients use technology to solve their HR pain points.

5. Sarah Kalloch, Executive Director, Good Jobs Institute
Sarah Kalloch is Executive Director of Good Jobs Institute, whose mission is to help companies thrive by creating good jobs. She has built partnerships with more than 30 companies and investors looking to implement the Good Jobs Strategy, helping improve more than 2 million jobs for traditionally low-wage workers. She was a 2018-2019 Aspen Job Quality Fellow and has guest lectured on sustainable operations at MIT Sloan.

MIT Sloan Professor Emilio Castilla will moderate the discussion. Dinner will be available before the event, and afterwards the conversation will continue over hot beverages and dessert. Please join us for what promises to be an interesting and informative event!
