Co-sponsored by the African, Black, American, Caribbean ERG, our Learn and Connect event will focus on making time for fun, creativity, and informal conversation with colleagues and peers. We will also have a "learn about me" component that will help us promote connections among participants both during and after the event.

You can drop in any time between 11a-12p. Stay for 10 minutes or for the whole hour! All are welcome from Sloan and across MIT.

  • In-person participants: SW4W will provide games and art/craft supplies at various stations throughout the in-person location. Participants will be able to complete their "learn about me" component during and after the event.

  • Virtual participants: Those who are not able to join us in-person are still invited to participate in the "learn about me" portion of the event by completing a brief survey. Register for the virtual component to receive the survey link on 3/21. Your answers to be featured (with attribution or anonymously) in a post-event follow-up.

  • ALL PARTICIPANTS: Everyone is invited (not required) to bring a small item to donate to one of the following organizations: On the Rise, Rosie's Place, Women's Lunch Place, and Concord Prison Outreach. If you cannot attend the in-person event, you can drop an item off at a later date in E52-101. Items we are collecting include:
    • Full or travel-sized toiletries (shower essentials, lotion, deodorant, dental care essentials, disposable razors, tissues)
    • Brand new (in original packaging) sports bras, socks, underwear
    • Hair care items for all hair types (gel, hair spray, dye, picks, combs, hair ties)
    • Notebooks and pens/pencils
    • KN95 disposable face masks
    • Irish Spring deodorant soap (original scent)
    • Reusable water bottles
    • Paperback copies of "The Prophet" by Kahlil Gibran (ISBN 979-8489793322) or "The Four Agreements" by Don Miguel Ruiz (ISBN 978-1878424310)

Accessibility notes: The in-person event will take place in a flat conference room that is accessible by elevators in the lobby of E62. Registrants will have a chance to articulate any accessibility considerations on the registration form, but are also welcome to contact us with any questions.
