SO Club x SWIM Push for Parity: The Power Couple — Navigating Dual Career Relationships

Navigating one career is hard enough; but two...? Join us for a panel event dedicated to discussing and succeeding dual-career relationships. Our panel of MIT alumni and other leaders are excited to share their stories, strategies, and successes as dual-career households. The event will be moderated by two Co-Officers of the Significant Others of Sloan club, Lily Schuller and Michael Frederikse.

Panellist bios:
Olga Timirgalieva (she/her) is a Sloan alum and project leader at Boston Consulting Group. While at Sloan, she founded the FLI@Sloan Club and co-led the Management Consulting Club. Olga and her wife live in the Boston area with their one-year-old child.

Elaine Kan (she/her) is a portfolio manager and rate & currency strategist for the fixed income group at Loomis, Sayles & Company. Elaine earned a BS in engineering, a BS in finance and a master’s degree in electrical engineering at MIT.

Begonya (she/her) is a leader in the Financial Services industry; she currently leads Personal Spending and Saving Solutions at Fidelity Investments and was previously the CEO of UMB Healthcare Services, where she led the largest capital raise in its 100+ year history. She studied her MBA at Yale and is joining as a panelist for the evening alongside her husband, Jason.

Jason (he/him) is a lawyer and adjunct professor at the Boston University School of Law. At the age of 24, he was one of the youngest ever elected to the Missouri House of Representatives and was later appointed by President Obama to lead the Heartland Region for the US General Services Administration. He is joined tonight by his wife, Begonya, with whom he has two children.
