Professor Ashe teaches 'Finance for the World's Poorest,' which focuses principally on informal finance through saving in small groups as the simplest and most cost-effective way to financially include the poor and poorest. He has spent 20 years organizing, training, evaluating, and managing microfinance projects in 34 developing countries and the USA and more recently more than twenty years promoting savings groups in Mali, Senegal, Cambodia, El Salvador, and Guatemala as Oxfam's Director of Community Finance.
