Celebrating Connections - 2023 Hispanic Heritage Month Juried Art Exhibition

UNG Students affiliated with any campus and program are invited to submit artworks to the third UNG juried art exhibition celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month. This exhibition will also include four guest artists from the northeast Georgia community and UNG alumni.

Celebrating Connections explores how our multicultural connections enable us to affirm ourselves in the world as unique, complex individuals and as part of communities. Students may submit two and three-dimensional media artworks which reflect on this broad concept.

Works are accepted in traditional art media (painting, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, photography, etc) as well as craft media, digital media, and recycled or discarded materials.

This is a juried exhibition for all UNG students. Five $50 awards will be presented to participating UNG students selected by an external juror. In 2023, our juror is Morgan Lugo, Atlanta sculptor.

This exhibition is organized by the Department of Visual Arts and sponsored by Multicultural Student Affairs, and it will include guest participating artists from northeast Georgia and UNG alumni.

Two-dimensional works should be framed or mounted on a stretcher and ready to be hung from a wire. Please review this link to prepare your frame for gallery display.

Frames - Please note that affordable frames are welcome for gallery display. Frames such as these ones are acceptable as long as they are prepared for installation as described above. Consider planning your artwork for the frame you can afford.

Additionally, the Department of Visual Arts owns several frames that you are welcome to borrow, if they will fit your needs. These frames are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

If you need help securing a frame or preparing it for the exhibition, please contact Dr. Ana Pozzi Harris, ana.pozzi@ung.edu, who will be happy to assist you.
