Young college student, Rachel Darius, embarks on a personal journey to understand modern life at an old water town in a constantly changing China.

Q & A with Duke alumni Rachel Darius '22

Rachel graduated Magna Cum Laude with a 3.93 GPA and a dual-degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Duke University and Media and Arts from Duke Kunshan University. She has completed projects that engage with topics such as identity, athletics, and the Black experience. Her interests lie in building meaningful connections between people of different communities, challenging hegemonic narratives on blackness, and giving marginalized groups a platform to share their stories through documentary film and photography. She particularly enjoy creating documentaries because it can build bridges between different cultures and highlight the individual characteristics of my subjects.
