We need more people like you, someone resilient, who welcomes challenges, and is eager to thrive. We need someone who will hold themselves and their team up, even when their backs are against the ropes. A leader; someone like you!

Sponsored by The Commons and VCU Transform, Leaders Unleashed is a gateway experience to finding your life-changing experiences, your best friend or mentor, and shaping your role as a leader at VCU, in your community, and beyond. The Leaders Unleashed: Student Leadership Conference will be held virtually via Zoom or other video-conferencing service. The conference will include small and large group discussions, activities and opportunities for reflection throughout the conference. Attendees will be grouped into smaller cohorts with a lead facilitator (VCU Faculty or Staff) and several other students. Each group will focus on one of three interest areas:

Leadership and Effective Communication (Intrapersonal)

Management and Team Development (Interpersonal)

Social Justice and Community Engagement (Community)

Registrants will select their top interest(s) in the Registration form.


Students who attend Leadership Unleashed will:

identify resources and support on campus to manage workflow, processes, and procedures
to lead their peers and/or organizations;

identify ways to effectively communicate virtually with their peers/students, supervisors, and
advisors/supervisors;

hone their delegation/workflow/leadership skills;

understand more about social justice, and how to be inclusive leaders on campus;

identify ways to build and maintain community and connection to VCU and the greater
Richmond region
