We invite you to join us on Saturday, April 13th, for the second show of the 11th Annual Jazz Festival @ Yale - The Nat Adderly Jr. Quartet!! As Luther Vandross’ long-time musical director, Nat’s (Yale ‘77) compositions include “Stop to Love”, “Wait for Love”, “Make Me a Believer”, “Other Side of The World”, and the Grammy-nominated “Give Me the Reason”. Also for Luther, Nat produced “My Favorite Things”, “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”, “Going Out of My Head” and “The Closer I Get To You” (the Grammy-winning duet with Beyonce). Nat’s rich career has included work with The Temptations, Aretha Franklin, Gloria Lynne, and many other prominent artists.
In recent years, the Nat Adderley Jr Quartet has performed in venues from Singapore to New York City. The YUJC is excited to welcome Nat back home! Thank you to The Traphagen Alumni Speakers Series, The Yale College Arts Discretionary Fund, and The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven for their generous funding!
