EveryBody Dances @ Yale Schwarzman Center brings local and visiting dance artists to our Dance Studio to teach Sunday masterclasses in jazz, hip hop, salsa, modern, contemporary, precision dance and more! All community members are welcome. This week's class will be led by Jason Ramos, founder of Baila Con Gusto CT, a Connecticut-based Latin dance instruction service. Together with his partner, students, and dancers, Jason performs and teaches across the state.

Jason Ramos

Jason is originally from Brooklyn, New York, born to parents who immigrated from Ambato, Ecuador. He began his journey into Latin dance as a recreational activity while at Central Connecticut State University. A few years later, dance took him into Massachusetts, New York, Italy, Spain, and the Dominican Republic to train with various instructors in their local social dance scenes.

Jason's social dance specialties include Salsa On1, Bachata (Dominican, Modern, and Sensual), and Merengue. Some of Jason's past artistic collaborations and credits include Nightfall, Ballet Theatre Company, Orquesta Afinke, Latin Heartbeat Orchestra, Riverfront Dance Festival, and The International Festival of Arts and Ideas. Jason has partnered with the Ulysses S. Grant Foundation at Yale, Movement Matters at Justice Dance Performance Project, Dirk Heidemman Ballroom Dance Studio, and Fred Astaire Dance Studios in Southbury and South Windsor.
