This two-part session will consist of a panel on Equitable Teaching, followed by a small group discussion with other new teaching fellows and part-time acting instructors.

Equitable Teaching Panel
As our panelists will discuss, the choices we make as instructors about how we structure our classroom environment impacts how equitable those spaces feel to students.  What choices can make a classroom feel accessible to all students, given the diversity of preparation and experience they may bring with them?  What strategies and mindsets can we best employ to make our learning spaces as equitable as possible?  The faculty and staff members on this panel will share their perspectives on equitable teaching and answer any questions you may have.

Small Group Discussion
In your small group discussion, which will follow immediately after the panel, you'll talk about inclusive teaching strategies, share ideas for the first days of teaching, and tackle common teaching challenges. These sessions, run by McDougal Teaching Fellows, will allow you to reflect on your teaching strategies and learn from your peers.

Logisitical Note
The panel will be held *in-person,* in Humanities Quadrangle L02 (320 York St.).  You will receive your room assignment for your small group discussion directly after the faculty panel.

Masks are required for both events.
