About this event
The recent preservation-driven removal of the Calder sculpture from the adjacent Hewitt Quadrangle creates an opportunity for discussion around the role of public art in place making, history, and memory. Join playwright Janis Astor del Valle, professor Laura Wexler, and visual artist Jordan Weber in a lunchtime conversation looking at their work and current projects that actively engage and confront monuments of today and of tomorrow.
This event takes place in the Peck Multipurpose Room, which is located in Commons @ Yale Schwarzman Center, 168 Grove Street, New Haven CT 06511. Should you require accessible accommodations, please contact Audience Services Manager Carla Jackson (carla.jackson@yale.edu) by Friday, September 16 at 9am.
