Geoff Kie, Laguna Pueblo, will be presenting on their journey as a storyteller through creative media to their own Geoff Kie Productions company and what it means for their community.

My name is Geoffrey Kie, I am Big Corn Clan and Little Turquoise Clan from the Pueblo of Laguna, NM. I lived in Flagstaff for 10 years, during that time I received my Bachelors of Science in Applied Indigenous Studies with a minor in Journalism from Northern Arizona University. I completed my Master's with Distinction in Communication with an Emphasis in Documentary Studies at NAU in 2019. As a graduate student, I was a professor of Communication Studies 111 in the School of Communication for two years, where I developed my own approach to pedagogy in a professional environment. I enjoyed working with fellow colleagues in developing my own research and learned about appropriate Qualitative research methodologies. My thesis work focused on Indigenous Food Sovereignty topics such as Seed Rematriation, Historical Trade Routes, and Internatural Communication. I love to cook and explore new flavors. I used to work as a line cook for 5 years where I was able to follow my passion for food while attending school. My wife and I are seed keepers and practice permaculture concepts in our free time. I love to create digital media so I took the leap with my own production company called Geoff Kie Productions LLC.
