Although much of modern pedagogical theory promotes active learning and non-traditional methods of presenting material, lecturing remains a widespread and often useful mode of teaching. In this ATW, we consider situations in which lecturing can be appropriate and workshop strategies for planning lectures, developing presence in the classroom, and managing time in the classroom. We welcome teaching fellows and instructors at all levels of experience, as a broad range of backgrounds will help to facilitate a rich conversation. For more information, please contact Sooyun Choi (sooyun.choi@yale.edu) or Cat Slowik (catherine.slowik@yale.edu).

This workshop will be held on Zoom.
