You made a film! Now what? How do you begin a festival strategy that goes beyond the dream of Sundance? Learn about festival programmers and what they do, portals for submitting films to fests, important considerations around online exhibitions, how to handle rejection, preparing for being accepted, and the do's and don'ts that make a festival experience worthwhile.

This workshop will be led by Professor KJ Mohr, professional film curator and festival programmer. Professor Mohr teaches FAVS 225 Introduction to World Cinema and FAVS 399 Curating and Programming for the Moving Image. Her portfolio of festivals includes Maryland Film Festival, Tampa Bay International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival, Annapolis Film Festival, Outfest, and more.

This event is open to all film students and collaborators.
