Graduate Outdoor Adventures: Billy Goat Trail Hike

Join Graduate Student Life and Outdoor Adventures on Sunday, October 17 for our Billy Goat Trail Hike! There are three sections to the Billy Goat Trail (A,B,and C) which will give us access to the C&O Canal tow path and beautiful views of the Potomac. There are many variations to this hike so distance can change based on weather conditions and group mood, but plan on an approximately 9 mile hike. The trail has very few hills, but can be quite rugged along Section A along the riverside cliffs.

Cost: Free
What to wear: Weather appropriate clothing and good walking or hiking shoes (closed-toed sneakers or boots)
What to bring: a daypack containing ID, 2 water bottles, lunch, sunscreen, rain jacket and any other layers you might need
When/Where: Meet at Skyline Fitness Center on the Fairfax Campus at 10am. We will drive to the trail, hike, eat lunch along the trail, and return to campus around 3-4pm.
Registration: Registration opens on October 4 and closes October 12 at noon.

Due to limited capacity and expected demand, we ask that you register for the event only if you are sure that you will be able to attend and participate.
Each student can only reserve ONE TICKET; trips are not open to guests and tickets should be reserved by each student wishing to attend. Tickets are non-transferable. Students' ID will be verified and Graduate Student Life will be checking to see that each student is currently enrolled in a graduate program and taking classes this term at Mason.

Cancellation and Waitlist Policy: To accommodate as many interested Mason graduate students as possible, a waitlist will begin once a trip fills. If a registered student cancels their registration by 5:00pm on the Wednesday before the event, their space will be offered to the next student(s) on the waitlist.
Any students canceling their registration with less than 72 hours notice will not be eligible to participate in future Graduate Outdoor Adventure trips during the 2020-21 year. There are limited spaces on this trip.
