BIPOC and people of other marginalized identities have often experienced pressure to change the way we talk and express ourselves in order to fit into the perceived cultures of various contexts. This process of code-switching in order to navigate explicit and implicit norms within academia and the professional world can be challenging and come at the cost of personal well-being for BIPOC folks. Join Graduate Student Life and University Career Services for a conversation on code-switching in graduate school and the professional world and how to manage your own academic and career journey while preserving your well-being.
