Adopt a Shelf for RIT FoodShare

FoodShare always has a list of high-need items that students rely heavily on when shopping in the pantry. On campus, FoodShare has a consistent set of offices and organizations that partner up and will host food and monetary drives. To alleviate receiving food that we had an overabundance of, and focus in areas that are in higher need and are not always supported through food drives, the goal is to take a set up in our partnerships, resembling what has been done in other pantries in the Rochester area colleges. Depending on the shelf adopted by the office, the commitment could vary greatly based on student use level.
By having a consistent set of partners that would be responsible for a specific pantry item (food or non-food) we would ask that when those items get low, their office or company would fundraise, donate, or buy those items to help fill the shelves. FoodShare would give the office a couple week notice about the shelf being low on goods to allow them to take time to collect donations internally and externally. FoodShare would also help with any marketing of advertising for said drive to help the office raise required items.
