Details
For those wishing to become citizens of the United States, the journey can be lengthy, challenging, rewarding, and so much more. The naturalization ceremony is the culmination of the naturalization process where someone takes a public oath to become a US citizen. These ceremonies are an incredible opportunity to witness the swearing in of some of our newest US citizens from around the world, celebrating and commemorating their individual and collective journeys to this place.
We will be going as a group to witness the naturalization ceremony at the United States District Court for the Western District of New York on 100 State Street in Rochester. A van will leave the Sentinel Statue promptly at 11:15am. Please note that the courtroom does NOT allow cell phones, laptops, tablets, food, or beverage inside. Please prepare accordingly. If you plan to drive yourself, please email Myren Bobryk-Ozaki at mibrli@rit.edu to let us know in advance.
This event will be open to the Voter Advocacy Network (VAN) for registration until March 16, at which point it will then open to general RIT student registration.
