Come learn about sustainable maple sugaring at Timber Trails Forrest Farm, home to New York State's first ever 100% electric, carbon neutral maple syrup farm! Come enjoy a walk through their woods, grounds, and sugar shacks while learning not only about the process of larger-scale harvesting of sap and conversion to maple syrup, but with special attention to the sustainable principles and strategies used to build and run the innovative Timber Trails Farm. Learn about their very unique endeavor of incorporating a fully electric evaporator that uses neither fossil fuels nor biomass for combustion to remove water from maple sap. Product samples will be provided, and be sure to bring spending money for the gift shop that has a variety of maple and value-added products. Dress to be outside for extended periods and for all weather conditions, and have footwear for hiking on unmaintained, snowy, muddy, or wet trails.

It is a great idea to bring water and a snack with you for the day. The bus will leave promptly at 9am from the Sentinel Statue.
