In this series, momentum II is an opportunity to learn about the Sustainable Development Goals (knowledge acquisition), how they are connected (systems thinking), interact with leaders and organizations actively engaged in working at the intersections of the goals (networking), and reflect on your leadership abilities and how your individual strengths can support or enhance the work being done (leadership development). Furthermore, this series is a partnership with RIT Sustainability and Rochester Ecology Partners. We will be focusing on leadership through the lens of sustainability and learning about the systems that affect our environment and how we can be better stewards of it.

About Rochester Ecology Partners

The Rochester Ecology Partners is an organization that intends to improve community connectedness through the power of nature. Our organization hopes to improve individual, community and environmental health and contribute to an educational system that connects people in our city, in particular youth and families to nature, the places they live, and each other.

By building these relationships we will encourage the adoption of an ecological mindset in our community where there is a better understanding of the relationship between our social and environmental systems. Our community's most pressing challenges can be solved with an approach that considers how everything is connected. Our mission consists of helping all people find nature where they live, work, and play.

About RIT Sustainability

RIT strives to infuse innovation and creativity into every element of our campus, and sustainability is central to our success. With academic program offerings that include product and packaging design, clean technology and policy, business, and environmental management, RIT is uniquely positioned to be a transformative force in the creation of a sustainable economy. But our efforts extend far beyond the classroom, empowering student-led sustainability programs, community engaged scholarship, and regional collaborations.

As a signatory of Second Nature's Climate Leadership Commitment, RIT has pledged to become carbon neutral by 2030. This commitment is a driving force behind RIT's sustainability strategy.
