Site Information:  Minds Matter connects driven and determined students from low-income families with the people, preparation, and possibilities to succeed in college, create their future, and change the world. They strive to equip high school students with the tools to gain acceptance to a four-year university and navigate the financial aid process.

Service Information: Volunteers are needed to provide tutoring to prepare students for the ACT test for college entrance, and the subjects covered are shared in advance.

Time Commitment: This site requires a weekly commitment for one semester and takes place on Saturdays from 9:45 am to 12:45 pm, which includes transportation time. Transportation is provided in the CCEL van by a CCEL Student Leader. Registered students will serve on the following 5 Saturdays: 1/27, 2/3, 2/10, 2/24, and 3/2.

Pre-Service Requirement: a background check is required to volunteer at this site. Once you register, you will receive more information on how to complete the background check at no cost to you. Results must be received before you can start service.
