Student volunteers will work with groups of elementary-age youth (1st-4th grade) at Mary B. Martin School in Cleveland. The volunteers of the after-school program will provide one-on-one tutoring, as well as participate in hands-on activities that engage students in recreational and educational programming. They will help with implementing daily and weekly lessons, which will include sessions on tennis, literacy, creative writing, wellness, and STEM. While helpful, volunteers do not need to have prior experience in the lesson activates.

This site requires a commitment of one semester and takes place on Wednesdays from 2:45 to 5:15 p.m., which includes transportation time. Transportation is provided in the CCEL van by the CCEL Serves Student Leader. The specific dates of the program are: 1/18 (Volunteer Training), 1/25, 2/1, 2/8, 2/15, 2/22, 3/1, 3/8, 3/29, 4/12, and 4/19.

Accessibility: CCEL is committed to providing all students with opportunities to take full advantage of our programs. Our staff recognizes that students with documented disabilities may require reasonable accommodations in order to achieve this objective. If you are interested in taking part in a specific project but have questions related to accommodations and/or the accessibility of a site, please contact the office of Disability Resources (216.368.5230 or disability@case.edu), and they will work with a representative from our office to answer your questions.
