How do you take your research data to the next level? Consider exploring GIS! (Geographic Information Systems)

The Kelvin Smith Library is celebrating GIS Day on Wednesday, November 16 from 12:30pm - 2:30pm in the Freedman Center. See GIS demos, learn about new open source tools, meet Digital Scholarship staff, learn about how GIS might amplify your own research or career, and enjoy some coffee and snacks.

The annual, international GIS Day (www.gisday.com) marks CWRU’s fourth year participating in the global event. Our event will be a low-key celebration of all things geospatial, from traditional GIS technology, to virtual reality, engineering, history, and a relatively informal opportunity to connect with university resources and learn about how GIS is being used around our community.

This event is a general open house, with two specific talks:

1:00 - Welcome!
1:10 - Easy Exploration of Data with R
1:30 - GIS Research at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation
