This UCITE-funded study explored whether starting university classes with a brief (under 5 minutes) mindfulness activity demonstrates positive effects on students' sense of well-being in the classroom, and on class dynamics as a whole, among a university population (undergraduate, graduate, and professional students across various majors). Faculty were trained on doing brief mindfulness activities, and a sub-group of students from these classes chose to participate in a pre-post test survey. Although the sample was small, we had promising results, and are seeking to duplicate the study with a larger sample this spring (2023). Come here more about the results, and about how mindfulness might benefit your classroom!
