Description of the Event:

CWRUcio Quidditch Team and CWRU for Autism Acceptance present the Spartan Run for Autism! This 5K charity run/walk is open to all members of the Cleveland community and will begin on DiSanto football field at Case Western Reserve University on Sunday, September 18th at 9:00 AM. The route passes through the Case Western campus, returning to DiSanto field at the end. All proceeds of this event will be donated to The Orange Effect Foundation, a charity dedicated to funding speech therapy for autistic children and others with speech disorders. 

COVID-19
Only those who are fully vaccinated should attend any campus event but you will not be asked to provide proof of vaccination. Leaders continue to monitor pandemic developments and may need to adjust health protocols further as circumstances warrant. In-person is subject to change based on COVID-19 guidelines.

Instructions
Please register for this volunteer opportunity and (if you are below 18) fill out the waiver on Campus Groups in advance before you come to volunteer. If you do not fill out the waiver, you will not be able to volunteer. Please register for as many shifts as you would like! Please come to DiSanto field and go to the check-in table, where we will confirm you on Campus Groups. You'll be provided with further instructions on which volunteer role you'll be performing. We will continue with the event even if it rains.

Don't forget to bring your own water bottle and dress for the weather! Food will be provided to the first shift.

Roles Available 
8:00-9:30AM:
- Please arrive at DiSanto Field no later than 8:15AM if this is your first/only shift.
- Set up water stations as indicated on the route map
- Check-in table: hand out t-shirts to the first 50 sign-ups, check sizes of t-shirts
- Check-in table: hand out race numbers
- Help with set-up along the route and at DiSanto Field

9:30-11:30AM:
- Please arrive at DiSanto Field by 9:15AM if this is your first/only shift. If you also signed up for the first shift, we will let you know on the day of the race where you should be during the race.
- Run water stations as runners/walkers pass by
- Call out the time to runners/walkers at DiSanto Field, mile marker 1, mile marker 2
- Direct the race at points indicated on the route map
- Be the last person at the end of the race to indicate where it ends

11:30-12:30PM:
- Please arrive at DiSanto Field by 11:15AM if this is your first/only shift. If you also signed up for the second shift, please return to DiSanto Field when you are able to.
- Take down water stations
- Help with taking down everything along the route and at DiSanto Field
- Help with the awards ceremony - put medals on the winners' heads

Timeline: 
8:00 AM - Setup Begins/volunteer register/donuts+breakfast snacks provided
9:00 AM - Packet Pick Up and Registration of racers 
9:30 AM - 5K Walk/Run Starts
11:00/11:15 AM - Awards Ceremony
11:30 AM to 12PM - Teardown

Minor Waiver: 
If you are under 18 years of age, you are required to fill out a "Minor Release for participation and photos." You will not be able to volunteer without downloading this file and then uploading it on the next page after clicking "register." 

Parking
If you need parking, please park in the adjoining parking garage behind DiSanto Field, Lot 46. An attendant will be present and parking will cost $7.

Please be respectful to the participants of the race and to the other volunteers. We just want to have a good time with this race while also working towards a good cause.
