Some background on our speaker: Kirsten Bowen, PE is an vice president and National Director for Rail and Transit, specifically freight rail services, for Michael Baker International. Kirsten joined Michael Baker in 2001. She has managed major corridor, grade separation and railyard expansion projects, including providing project management for the Lakefront West Corridor on the west side of Cleveland; design reviews and project audits for the Opportunity Corridor, near campus; and as a program and project manager for a variety of Norfolk Southern and CSX clearance and capacity projects. Kirsten is a Professional Engineer, holds a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Case Western Reserve University and a Master's of Urban Planning from Cleveland State University. She is a member of American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association, American Society of Highway Engineers and Women's Transportation Seminar and holds various leadership positions within those associations. She lives in Sagamore Hills, OH with her husband Chris and son Charles. Read more about her local work here:
