In today’s world, women feel pressure to achieve success on their own, however in reality it takes collective action. As part of this year’s Stern Women in Business Conference, “Beyond Binaries: Expanding the conversation on gender and success,” we will explore the macro factors that directly or indirectly impact our ability to succeed. From business initiatives to governmental policies to family and social support, this conversation will seek to unearth insights and areas for innovation. We hope that by delving deeper into the complexities of our modern definition of success, we alleviate some of the pressure and burden women feel in their pursuit of achievement.

In an increasingly interconnected world where remote work and social media dominate brain market share, it has become difficult to separate our personal and professional lives. Research shows that women are more likely to feel pressure to constantly say “Yes” to every request, assignment, and opportunity that comes our way, especially in relation to serving the needs of others. Through this panel discussion we will explore how regaining a sense of autonomy means saying “No,” and prioritizing our needs.
3:40PM - 4:00PM | Closing Remarks
