Join us for an improvisational dance workshop, no experience needed!
A workshop exploring a feminist consciousness within the context of dance improvisation practice.

Valuing group process and artistic freedom, this workshop will examine embodied community organizing as a feminist practice. Drawing from the artistic practices of choreographers Deborah Hay and Liz Lerman together, we will research how an improvisational dance might consider ethics of care and feminist identity formation. By way of a non-hierarchical dance class structure, this womxn-centered workshop will embark on a dancing of transgressive aesthetic freedom.

Informed by Ynestra King's feminist and disability theory text The Other Body (1993)
