Hosted by Peabody professor Matthew Reese, join your fellow music lovers in a live discussion with world renowned violinist Jennifer Koh, who not only is one of the most sought-after performers of our time, but also began her educational career with a B.A. in English Literature from Oberlin College. A great opportunity for JHU students to make connections between their own academic pursuits and their love of music. In addition to the April 13 live-discussion, student will have the opportunity to watch her Shriver Hall Concert Series recital – a link will be provided prior to the discussion. Join us!

Hailed for her intense, commanding and "deeply expressive" (The New York Times) performances, Jennifer Koh returns to Shriver Hall Concert Series with a solo violin performance prerecorded in New York. Koh, "a masterly Bach interpreter and a champion of contemporary repertory" (The New York Times) juxtaposes two of Bach's landmark works for solo violin with 12 micro-works that she commissioned in 2020 as part of her Alone Together project, a response to the pandemic and the financial hardship it has placed on many in the arts community.

Hop Art, generously funded by the Parents Fund, provides JHU students (undergraduate Homewood) an opportunity to attend Baltimore performing arts events, also allowing students and faculty to interact in a social setting.
