SGA, GSPB and GSA are coming together to host an event called "Women of Color Need Courageous Allies in the Academy: An Open Dialogue with White and Black Women". This webinar event focuses on having honest and transformative conversations centered around how White and Black women engage with one another in the academic environment. Our panel of five speakers including Dr. Shani Barrax Moore (University of North Texas), Dr. Karen L. Dace (Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis), Dr. Jennifer LaFlam (A Los Rios College), Dr. Dreama Moon (California State University San Marcos), Dr. Menah Pratt-Clark (Virginia Tech) and host Holly Mendelson (Insight Into Diversity) will share their perspectives on important topics like performative allyship, White self-discovery, and recognizing unconscious bias. All VCU and VCU Health students, faculty, and staff are invited to participate in this discussion.
