Maple Madness: Maple Sugaring at RIT

Learn about the process of making maple syrup, maple sugaring opportunities at RIT, and how to do it on your own in this on-campus program. We will teach you about tree identification, tapping tools and methods, sap collection, and how to process sap to create the sweet concoction of maple syrup. After a half-hour presentation, take a self-guided tour around the nearby grounds to see the maple sugaring process in practice. Students should dress to be outside and have footwear for snowy and/or muddy conditions on unmaintained surfaces.
