Please join the CMC as we welcome Juan Gomez Vega ’09, founder and head coach of Breaking into Finance, a specialist coaching and advising firm, who will guide us through a mid-season refresher on recruiting in finance. Juan will cover recruiting and networking from both sides of the table, including a glimpse into CoV-19 implications, before opening the floor to Q&A to cover doubts, sticky points, or ideas that students want to discuss as they continue to search for your summer or full time jobs, or look to deepen their networks.

Juan is a finance veteran who spent the last 20 years working in Latin America, the US and Europe. He is currently an Investment Director and Head of Southern Europe for Deutsche Finance International (DFI), a pan-European real estate focused private equity firm, and has over 15 years of real estate debt, equity investment and asset management experience. Prior to joining DFI, he was a Chief Capital Markets Officer at Neinor Homes, where he was responsible for the execution of its €1.3 billion IPO, and was previously a Director at Lone Star Spain, where he oversaw the sourcing and execution of c.€1.5 billion investment opportunities in Iberia, and the CEO of Vilamoura World, a Portuguese developer. He has also held roles at Och-Ziff, Morgan Stanley, Hal Investments, Deutsche Bank / RREEF, and Pegasus Capital. Juan holds a BS in Economics, a MS in Finance, an MBA from Columbia Business School, and is a CFA Charterholder.

The CMC Enterprise Industry Series features current industry practitioners and CBS faculty who provide insight on career paths in sectors that do not typically follow a structured hiring process when they on-board new talent. Enterprise Industry sessions are offered in both large and small group formats. First-year students who are interested to explore careers in these spaces are especially encouraged to attend these helpful educational programs.
