The Advocacy 101 virtual workshop is designed to give you the tools to help you take a stand for the issues you believe in. During this workshop, you’ll learn about approaches to advocacy from Rachel Collyer with the Ohio Student Association, a statewide organization led by young people in Ohio that organizes young people to work towards racial, social, economic, and educational justice. Student organizations, such as CWRU Survivors, Physical Resource Center, Student Caregivers, and the Black Student Union, will also help you see CWRU student advocates in action by sharing ways they have used advocacy tools, including public education, dialogue, political engagement, demonstrations, and more, to make change on causes they care about. Please check your CampusGroups reminder email that you’ll receive after registering for the Zoom connection details.

Event is hosted by the CCEL student Executive Council, and funding is made possible through the 2021 Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration at CWRU to continue Dr. King’s commitment to social justice. Explore similar events as part of CCEL's monthly Social Change Series.
