Join us on May 5 at 12 p.m. EST via Zoom as part of the Case Western Reserve University Entrepreneurship Series for a Roundtable Discussion with Mark Gelfand, founder of STEMpower and TodayTomorrow Ventures. He will discuss his work improving the engineering infrastructure in Ethiopia through STEM programs and investment.

STEMpower implements hands-on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) programs in Ethiopia and nearby countries for pre-university students to engage them towards advanced STEM study and careers. The organization's goal is to empower youth and strengthen nations
by developing a new generation of engineers.

TodayTomrrow Ventures primarily works with Ethiopia-based ventures and companies to bring about real economic, environmental and social development through investment and involvement in the operations of productive businesses. Its two investment funds focus on agriculture and manufacturing, respectively.

We will also be broadcasting this roundtable and future roundtables to LinkedIn Live on CWRU Veale Institute for Entrepreneurship's LinkedIn page on May 5.

Mark Gelfand created STEMpower (and its predecessor the Gelfand Family Charitable Trust) because of a passion for science&engineering, as well as a desire to give forward. His mission is to see all students have access to the same kind of quality STEM education experience that he had in the United States.

After witnessing deserving students achieve success at Yemin Orde Youth Village in Israel, he knew that if given the opportunity, students in developing nations could thrive and become scientists and engineers in their communities. Mark is also involved in helping build the industrial capacity of Ethiopian exports though TodayTomorrowVentures. Mark is earned his B.S. in Physics at Carnegie-Mellon University. (stempower.org)
